‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Creator Sells Cop Drama to ABC

The creator of "Grey’s Anatomy" and its spinoff "Private Practice" has sold a police drama to ABC. Deadline.com reports that Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland received an order from the network for the hourlong project, from "Made in Jersey" creator Dana Calvo.

Rhimes isn’t expected to be writing the project, or any project this development season, given her showrunner duties on "Grey’s Anatomy" and "Scandal," the story reports. The untitled Calvo project is set in Miami and tracks a detective known for his unusual methods, along with his new female partner, the story says.

The new project is the second sale by Rhimes for the 2014-15 season, following an order by ABC for "Lawless," from "Mistresses" developer and exec producer KJ Steinberg, the report notes.
