A lawsuit has been filed over a pilot at the History channel, TheWrap.com reports. A man is suing A&E Television Networks over the pilot "Thingamabob," alleging that he was offered the hosting job but fired after airing concerns about working conditions, the story reports.

Jerry Carnett claims he was working on the TruTV series "Killer Karaoke" when he was named by T Group Productions and 1Stave PDPP Inc. to join the "Thingamabob" pilot as a co-host. Both production companies are also named as defendants, the report notes.

Carnett claims that after he warned a builder on the set that he was using a large grinding wheel in an unsafe way, he was "demoted, his co-hosting duties were taken away and he was placed on two days of leave."

He alleges that when he returned, the grinding wheel was still being used even though it had injured the builder, and that cameras were "swarming an individual using the vary [sic] machine responsible for injuring another builder’s hand."

Carnett alleges that he was fired after complaining about the safety issues. A&E had no comment on the lawsuit.
