73-year-old Valerie Harper is battling terminal cancer, but that hasn’t stopped her from accepting new roles, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

The actress has been cast in "The Town That Came A-Courtin’," which is an adaptation of Rhonda Rich’s love story about a divorced woman who finds love. Harper will portray a bed-and-breakfast owner.

"The movie will premiere in January on the hard-to-find cable network UP, which is devoted to uplifting programming," the piece notes.

As previously reported, Harper was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer earlier this year. The Emmy-winning actress is known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on the CBS comedy "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and the spinoff "Rhoda."

  1. Isn’t that a picture of Karen Black instead of Valerie Harper?

  2. Les, you beat me to the punch.

  3. Hi Les. Hi Scott. Thanks for the heads-up. We regret the error and now have the correct picture up.
