Charter Communications plans to introduce video-on-demand to nine new markets by the end of this year, bringing its total to 21 VOD markets.
The nine new markets are Allendale, Mich.; Fond du Lac, Wis.; Jackson, Tenn.; Janesville, Wis.; Kennewick, Wash.; Kingsport, Tenn.; Madison, Wis.; Manchester, Tenn.; and St. Peters, Mo. The cable operator will rely on VOD equipment from Concurrent and nCUBE.
SeaChange launches VODlink
SeaChange last week launched its new VODlink service, which delivers simulations of DVDs to the set-top. The software application extends to the VOD experience DVD features such as director’s cuts, additional scenes and trailers.
SurfGuide IPG clears hurdle
iSurfTV’s SurfGuide interactive programming guide recently received Acadia Certification for the Motorola DCT-2000 set-top box, which will allow the IPG to be deployed.
