NCTA: The National Show
High-definition television and the digital transition take center stage as the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, the principal trade association of the U.S. cable television industry, holds its annual exposition at McCormick Place in Chicago.
“Leading the Digital Revolution,” the June 9 general session, will feature a cross-section of industry leaders: Comcast’s Brian Roberts, AOL Time Warner’s Richard Parsons, Viacom’s Mel Karmazin and Microsoft’s Bill Gates.
The event will showcase the latest in high-definition television with a centerpiece exhibit on the convention floor building on recently announced “plug-and-play” agreements between cable operators and consumer electronics manufacturers.
HDNet will be on the floor to produce live high-definition programming, including all general sessions, which will be transmitted nationwide via satellite in high-def.
