“ATAS Cares About Dress for Success: Power Friends, Power Fashion” is a benefit fashion show taking place Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the TV Academy in North Hollywood, Calif., to assist the nonprofit group “Dress for Success-Los Angeles.” The first official event presented by the ATAS Cares Committee, which reaches out to help the larger community, will also honor the Primetime Emmy nominees for costume design and supervision. “Boston Public” star Jeri Ryan is host, KTLA-TV’s Gayle Anderson is emcee and Erin Brockovich is special guest. Models include Kelly Bishop, Dennis Haysbert, Patricia Richardson, Doris Roberts and Liz Torres.
Amazing End of the Road
The fourth edition of “The Amazing Race,” which began with 12 contestant couples, concludes Thursday, Aug. 21, on CBS, as the three surviving teams finish their whirlwind trip around the globe. Those still in the hunt are best friends David and Jeff (in the lead entering the final show), engaged couple Jon and Kelly (in second place) and married gay couple Chip and Reichen. The winners race off with a $1 million prize.
WB’s Warm Welcome
More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the fifth annual WB Affiliate Advertiser Party on the WB Ranch in Burbank, Calif., on Thursday, Aug. 21. The WB affiliates invite advertiser clients to the annual gala, which has become a hot ticket, to celebrate the launch of the new season and mingle with cast members and executives. Reba McEntire, the country singer and star of The WB sitcom “Reba,” is among the expected attendees.
