Chris Sloan Named VP, Alternative Programming, for CBS

CBS Entertainment President Nancy Tellem announced Wednesday Chris Sloan has been named VP, alternative programming, CBS Entertainment.

Mr. Sloan will be responsible for overseeing the development and production of all CBS alternative programming, including reality series, game shows and other forms of nonscripted programming.

Previously, Mr. Sloan was VP of production at cable network The Learning Channel, where he oversaw the makeover series “Trading Spaces” and “Trading Spaces: Home Free,” “Overhaulin’,” “Bodywork” and “Faking It” as well as the revamped daytime schedule.

Before working at TLC Mr. Sloan was senior VP, reality programming and specials, for USA Network, where he helped develop the series “Nashville Star,” “The Real Cannonball Run” and “Combat Missions.”

Mr. Sloan was also creative director and co-founder of NBC-2000, the Network’s branding unit. Mr. Sloan began his entertainment career as a producer/cameraman on the ESPN series “Jimmy Houston Outdoors.”

Mr. Sloan, who starts at CBS after Labor Day, replaces Ghen Maynard, who left for NBC earlier in the summer.
