Claiborne, Castro Join ABC News

ABC News has filled out the front four of weekend edition of “Good Morning America,” which will debut Saturday, Sept. 4, with the choice of veteran correspondent Ron Claiborne as news anchor and recent hire Marysol Castro as weather correspondent and feature correspondent. The co-anchors, former KABC-TV sportscaster Bill Weir and ABC News White House correspondent Kate Snow, were announced recently.

Mr. Claiborne joined ABC News in 1986 and has covered everything from the Boston Catholic Church scandal to the war and the occupation in Iraq.

Ms. Castro, a former ABC News intern and anchor and correspondent for News 12 The Bronx, Ms. Castro was a feature reporter for Tribune-owned WPIX-TV in New York, before being tapped as weekend “GMA” feature correspondent this summer. The assignment as weather correspondent was added more recently.
