San Francisco’s NBC-owned station KNTV said it received approval from The Federal Communications Commission to build a new transmitter on Mt. San Bruno in the Bay area. The new transmitter should help improve the station’s reception throughout the designated market area. KNTV has been dogged by issues of signal reach since it became an NBC affiliate more than two years ago and jumped from the Monterey-Salinas, Calif., market to serving the San Francisco DMA. The new transmitter should allow for a better signal throughout the Bay area.
