NBC’s Olympics Ratings Start Off Strong

NBC’s prime-time Olympics coverage from the opening ceremonies on Friday through the first day of competition on Saturday scored a 13.2 rating in households and a 25 share, down from the 14.5/27 racked up by the network during the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney. Total viewership is up from the Sydney Games, with 95 million total viewers tuning in this year compared with 12 million in 2000. NBC said ratings for its Saturday afternoon coverage were 7.1/19, up 15 percent from the first Saturday in Sydney.#
