Olivares Promoted at Fuel

CJ Olivares has been promoted to senior VP and assistant general manager of Fuel, where he will assume a greater role in the day-to-day management of the year-old action sports channel. Mr. Olivares, who was VP of programming and marketing, will continue to report to David Sternberg, executive VP of emerging networks for Fox Cable Networks and general manager of Fuel.

Mr. Olivares’ new responsibilities will include identifying new sources of income, such as broadband and wireless content distribution, and developing localized versions of Fuel in major territories around the world.

Mr. Olivares was director of program development and acquisition for Fox Sports Net in 1997 before becoming CEO of the Broadband Interactive Group in 1999. He returned to the Fox Cable group to join Fuel in 2002.
