Sony Corp.’s Sony Electronics and Sony Connect have struck a marketing partnership with ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Sony Electronics will sponsor a new outdoor venue in Hollywood called the Walkman Stage where 22 music performances will air on the late-night show. Additionally, Sony Connect, a new Internet music store, will offer “Kimmel Downloads,” where consumers can download live recordings from the Walkman Stage and from performances on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” set. Each song from www.connect.com is priced at 99

cents.

The “Kimmel Downloads” started Wednesday with two tracks from Tuesday night’s performance by Lenny Kravitz. Rap artists Houston with Nate Dogg and Chingy will be appearing on the Walkman Stage tonight, and downloads of their performances will be available in the Sony Connect music store tomorrow.
