The WB announced Tuesday that Maria Grasso has been promoted to senior VP of drama development and Clay Spencer, formerly of the Greenblatt Janollari Studio, is coming aboard as the department’s new VP. Both will report to Carolyn Bernstein, executive VP of drama development.

Ms. Grasso, formerly VP in the department, helped develop “Everwood,” “Summerland” and the 2004-05 season dramas “Jack & Bobby” and “The Mountain.” She previously worked in comedy development at Warner Bros. Television and Universal.

Mr. Spencer is once again working for his old boss, David Janollari, The WB’s entertainment president, who left his own studio to work at the network. Mr. Spencer, who will serve as the current executive on “The Mountain,” was VP of development and production at Greenblatt Janollari. He previously worked at Paramount Network Television in the current programming department.
