Michael Whitney, a 31-year veteran of CBS News, has been named senior broadcast producer for both the Wednesday and Sunday editions of “60 Minutes.” Mr. Whitney, a nine-time Emmy winner who has held that role for “60 Minutes II” since 2000 and who has held similar roles on numerous CBS News programs and coverage of historic and special events, will oversee studio production and broadcast operations and report to “60 Minutes” executive producer Jeff Fager. “There is simply nobody better at doing what he does: putting a news broadcast on television,” Mr. Fager said.
