Carsey-Werner Ups Kraus to President

James Kraus has been promoted to president of Carsey-Werner Domestic Television Distribution. Robert Dubelko, co-president and chief operating officer of Carsey-Werner, made the announcement Monday.

Mr. Kraus, who previously held the position of executive VP, Carsey-Werner Domestic Television Distribution, will oversee domestic sales, marketing and research activities relating to the company’s off-network programs.

Mr. Kraus joined the distribution unit in 1999 as senior VP and regional sales manager. Prior to that, he was executive VP and director of sales and marketing for MCA/Universal Television in Los Angeles from 1991-97. Mr. Kraus joined MCA/Universal Television in 1982 as regional sales manager. While at MCA/Universal, he directed the sales efforts of a variety of programs, including “Hercules,” “Xena: Warrior Princess,” “Coach” and “Magnum, P.I.” He has also worked for MGM Television and Telepictures.
