CBS Wins Viewers; Football Gives ABC Win in Demo

ABC’s “NFL Monday Night Football” won the night among adults 18 to 49, but CBS’s Monday comedy block and “CSI: Miami” gave the network a win in total viewers.

According to Nielsen Media Research preliminary fast nationals, “CSI: Miami” was the highest-rated nonsports programming of the night in adults 18 to 49 (7.0/17) and viewers (19.21 million).

NBC’s “LAX” was up 10 percent in the demo from last week’s episode (3.4/8 vs. 3.1/8), while its 9 p.m. (ET) lead-in “Las Vegas” was down 6 percent from last week.

At 8 p.m. NBC’s “Fear Factor” won its time period in both adults 18 to 49 (4.4/12) and total viewers (11.04 million). Fox’s “North Shore” was up 6 percent in the demo from last week (1.9/5 vs. 1.8/5)

The WB’s “7th Heaven” and “Everwood” were down slightly in adults 18 to 49 from last week, but stable in persons 18 to 34. All four of UPN’s comedies were up over last week’s season premieres, with newcomer “Second Time Around” up 17 percent in the demo week to week (1.2/3 vs. 1.4/3).

ABC was first for the night in adults 18 to 49 with a 6.4/16, followed by CBS (5.4/14), NBC (4.1/10), Fox and The WB (both 2.1/5) and UPN (2.1/5).

CBS was first for the night in total viewers with 15.94 million, followed by ABC (15.66 million), NBC (10.41 million), The WB (6.07 million), Fox (4.76 million) and UPN (3.47 million).
