Disney-ABC Television Group Promotes Binford, Brockman

The Disney-ABC Television Group announced Monday it has instituted a new communications structure and promoted two key executives. Sue Binford has been named senior VP, corporate communications for Disney-ABC Television Group; and Kevin Brockman has been named senior VP, entertainment communications for Disney-ABC Television Group.

Ms. Binford will oversee corporate communications for Disney-ABC Television Group, which includes the ABC Television Network and the ABC Cable Networks Group. In addition, she will continue to oversee communications efforts for ABC News, ABC Sports, ABC corporate initiatives, ABC’s owned stations and the ABC Radio division.

Mr. Brockman will oversee entertainment communications for the Disney-ABC Television Group and Walt Disney Television Animation. He will continue to oversee communications efforts for ABC Kids, ABC Primetime, ABC Late-Night and Touchstone Television, as well as the network’s photography & new media and talent relations departments.

The announcement was made by Anne Sweeney, co-chairman, Media Networks, The Walt Disney Co. and president, Disney-ABC Television Group; and by Zenia Mucha, senior VP, communications, The Walt Disney Co. Both Ms. Binford and Mr. Brockman will report to Ms. Mucha.

Ms. Binford had most recently been senior VP, communications, for the ABC Television Network and the ABC Broadcast Group, a position she had held since June 2003. She previously worked for CNN, NBC and MTV.

Mr. Brockman has served as senior VP, entertainment communications, for the ABC Television Network since April 2000. He previously worked for UPN and Fox Television Stations Productions.
