Former CBS Productions creative executive Brian Banks has been named senior VP, comedy development, for Paramount Network Television. The announcement was made Tuesday by David Stapf, president of Paramount Network Television. Mr. Banks will report to Maria Crenna, executive VP at the company.

As VP, comedy series, at CBS Productions, he oversaw current programming and development, working on shows such as “The King of Queens,” “Yes, Dear,” “Still Standing” and UPN’s “Half & Half.”

Mr. Banks replaces Rose Catherine Pinkney, who most recently held the position of senior VP, comedy development, at Paramount. Ms. Pinkney has left the company.

Mr. Banks joined CBS Productions in August 1997 from Warner Bros. Television, where he served as Ms. Crenna’s assistant when she ran Warner Bros. Television’s comedy development department.
