Darrell Hammond, “Saturday Night Live’s” master of political and journalistic impressions, will host the 25th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards, which will be held by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on Monday, Sept. 13, at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel and telecast at 8 and 11 p.m. (ET) Saturday, Sept. 25, on Discovery Times Channel.

Appearing as presenters will be “ABC World News Tonight” anchor Peter Jennings, “Washington Week’s” Gwen Ifill, “CBS Evening News'” Dan Rather, Diane Sawyer of ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “PrimeTime Live,” CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and NBC News’ Brian Williams.

“It’s only fitting that he stand up in front of the very people he routinely skewers in his hilarious and incisive comedy sketches,” said Vivian Schiller, senior VP and general manager of Discovery Times Channel.

NATAS President Peter Price said, “Mr. Hammond brings the special credential of having impersonated many of America’s most prominent newsmakers and newscasters.”
