Cablevision Systems on Wednesday said it has hired William Keith Harper as senior VP and controller. He starts Oct. 18 and reports to Chief Financial Officer Michael Huseby.

The announcement, made in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing submitted Wednesday, fills a slot vacated last month when three Cablevision executives, including acting chief accounting officer Raymond Anderson, left the company.

Mr. Harper was a private investor for the better part of 2004. Before that, he spent 18 months as a partner at accounting firm KPMG LLP. Before that, Mr. Harper spent 10 years at now-defunct accounting firm Arthur Andersen LLP.

According to the filing, Mr. Harper will be paid an annual salary of $485,000, with a bonus projected at around 60 percent of his annual salary, but with a possible range of zero to 120 percent of that salary.
