Rainbow Media Holdings on Monday hired two new executives and promoted two others as the media company prepares for its planned split from parent Cablevision Systems.

The company hired Glenn Oakley as senior VP, new business development, in charge of identifying, strategizing and leveraging new business opportunities for Rainbow. Mr. Oakley joins Rainbow from Showtime Networks, where was senior VP of corporate strategy and international operations, focusing on the launch of digital services and Showtime’s high-definition television service.

Rob Battles was hired as senior VP of creative services and will be responsible for advertising, branding and promoting Rainbow’s businesses. Mr. Battles most recently served as president of Rivercross Entertainment Ltd., a television programming and marketing company.

Meanwhile, Rainbow also promoted Greg Moyer and Nora Ryan as co-general managers of Voom HD Originals, the unit responsible for creating content for Rainbow’s new high-definition satellite service. The pair will oversee the development, programming and branding of original content for the Voom service.

Mr. Moyer previously was president of regional programming at Rainbow, managing the operations of all 12 networks that make up Rainbow. Ms. Ryan was previously senior VP of business development at Rainbow.

Mr. Moyer’s and Ms. Ryan’s promotions come on the heels of the recent appointment of Dan Ronayne to senior VP and general manager of Mag Rack, the on-demand television network owned by Rainbow.

All five executives report to Rainbow CEO and President Joshua Sapan.
