TMC Entertainment announced Thursday that it began principal photography in late September in Turkey and Israel on two PBS miniseries, “Walking the Bible” and “Abraham,” which are based on the books of Bruce Feiler.

Mr. Feiler and Avner Goren, a biblical archaeologist, will host both series, which are being presented by KQED-TV in San Francisco. “Walking the Bible” and “Abraham” are scheduled for broadcast on PBS in fall 2005.

The projects will be filmed on three continents in 10 countries, including Iraq, the birthplace of Abraham.

Both series will be executive produced by TMC Entertainment’s Drew S. Levin and Jim Coane. Alex Gregory will co-write the miniseries along with Mr. Feiler. David Wallace will direct.

The miniseries will also be released on DVD.
