Viacom Television Stations Group President and CEO Fred Reynolds announced Monday that he has named Julio Marenghi president and general manager of Viacom’s New England television stations and named Tom Kane sales president to succeed Mr. Marenghi.

Mr. Marenghi will run CBS station WBZ-TV in Boston, UPN station WSBK-TV in Boston and UPN station WLWC-TV in Providence, R.I. Mr. Marenghi, who most recently served as president of sales for the Viacom Stations Group, replaces Ed Goldman, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Mr. Marenghi most recently served as Viacom Television Stations Group sales president. Before that he was VP and station manager of WCBS-TV in New York, after leaving WNBC-TV, where he was sales manager.

Mr. Marenghi has played a key role as part of the senior leadership of the Viacom Television Stations Group, most recently initiating the launch of the company’s UPN station’s weekend political affairs program, “Make it Count,” to cover the 2004 presidential election.

Mr. Kane is a veteran station executive who spent 28 years with ABC — including nearly seven years as the head of its flagship station, WABC-TV New York — before being named president of Viacom Television Stations Spot Sales in November 2003. “We’ve had a very strong year and have laid the groundwork for an even stronger 2005, especially with CBS and UPN programming helping our stations,” Mr. Kane said.
