Carole Black Leaving Lifetime

Carole Black has informed the board of Lifetime Entertainment Services that she will leave the women’s network in March, the company said today. Ms. Black, 61, said she is taking time off from the corporate grind. “This is the right decision for me personally. I’ve been commuting between Los Angeles and New York for more than 5½ years, spending much of my time at airports, on planes and in hotel rooms,” she said in a statement. “I now look forward to moving back to my home and family in Los Angeles and taking some personal time. It’s been the most wonderful journey, but there really is no place like home.”

The board of Lifetime, a joint venture of The Walt Disney Co. and The Hearst Corporation, is expected to launch a search for a new head of Lifetime. Ms. Black will work with the board and her successor to ensure a smooth transition, the company said.
