The Family Friendly Programming Forum announced Thursday that Lori Loughlin, star of the WB show “Summerland,” has signed to host the Sixth Annual Family Television Awards.

The awards will honor winners in seven categories: comedy, drama, actor, actress, best new series, reality and special.

The ANA is a group of 44 major national advertisers that participate in the forum to encourage the television community to produce more family-friendly prime-time shows.

The ceremony will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills and will air on The WB Thursday, Dec. 9, at 9 p.m. (ET). Dick Clark Productions will produce the show for the sixth consecutive year.
