Pax TV announced Thursday that production on the second installment of its reality series “Cold Turkey” is under way in San Diego, paving the way for a January 2005 premiere.

“Cold Turkey 2” follows the same format as the original series, where a group of 10 unsuspecting chain smokers, bamboozled into thinking they are joining the cast of a “Survivor”-style reality show called “Pushing the Limits,” discover they have been brought together to quit smoking.

Hosted by A.J. Benza and executive produced by Stuart Krasnow, the first season of “Cold Turkey” wraps up on Pax on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 10 p.m. (ET).
