Steve Tello is returning to the Fox Sports Networks family as VP and general manager of 2.6 million-home FSN Pittsburgh some seven months after the end of his six year-run as head of FSN’s news operation in Los Angeles. The announcement was made Tuesday by Randy Freer, chief operating officer of Fox Sports Networks.

In his new position, Mr. Tello will oversee all aspects of the regional cable sports network, which telecasts Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Penguins games, as well as University of Pittsburgh, Penn State and West Virginia games.

“Having an experienced executive like Steve, who has been a big part of the FSN success over the years, return in a GM’s role will be a big boost for the region,” said Mr. Freer.

Mr. Tello has more than 20 years of experience in television management, news and production. Mr. Tello, who spent time in several ABC News bureaus, was a senior producer for ABC News’ “World News Tonight” before becoming president of the broadcast and production units of Speer Communications, based in Nashville. Mr. Tello has been credited with putting cameras in the courtrooms.
