Spanish-language programmer Univision Communications on Thursday reported a 74 percent surge in third-quarter profit, as each of the company’s business lines posted gains in the period.
The Los Angeles-based company posted a profit of $73.4 million, or 21 cents a share, versus $42.2 million, or 16 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue surged 49 percent to $477.4 million.
The company, which owns music, radio, Internet and television assets, reported growth across all of its businesses, with the television operation reporting a 16 percent rise in revenue to $328.1 million amid higher prime-time ratings.
