CBS Wins Week in Demo, Viewers

CBS won the week ended Dec. 19 in the adults 18 to 49 demographic and total viewers, but ABC had the No. 1 show in both categories with its Sunday night hit “Desperate Housewives.”

“Housewives” scored a 9.9 rating among adults 18 to 49 and garnered more than 22.34 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. NBC’s Dec. 16 “Apprentice” finale took second place in the demo with a 7.8, followed by CBS’s procedural dramas “CSI: Miami” (7.5) and “CSI” (6.5) and comedy “Two and a Half Men” (5.8).

In total viewers, “CSI: Miami” came second with 20.54 million, followed by “CSI” (19.51 million), CBS’s newsmagazine “60 Minutes” (18.55 million) and “The Apprentice” (16.93 million).

CBS won the week in adults 18 to 49 with a 3.8, followed by NBC (3.6), ABC (3.4), Fox (2.5), UPN (1.4) and The WB (1.2).

In total viewers CBS brought in 12.58 million, followed by NBC (9.82 million), ABC (9.55 million), Fox (5.83 million), UPN (3.54 million) and The WB (3.0 million).
