Television legend Dick Clark, 75, is recuperating from what is being described as a mild stroke.

“The doctors tell me I should be back in the swing of things before too long, so I’m hopeful to be able to make it to Times Square to help lead the country in bringing in the New Year once again,” the producer and longtime New Years Eve telecast host said in a statement.

The stroke occurred earlier this week, according to a release from his spokesperson, Paul Shefrin. No other information was released. Earlier this year Mr. Clark said he has had Type 2 diabetes since 1994.
