Rebecca Marks has been promoted to executive VP of the West Coast-based publicity division of NBC Universal Television Group. Ms. Marks, who has served as senior VP of publicity since July 2001, will continue to report to Jeffrey Zucker, president of NBC Universal Television Group, and Anna Perez, executive VP of corporate communications for NBC Universal.

In her role as senior VP of NBC Entertainment Publicity, Ms. Marks was responsible for communications for all of NBC’s entertainment-related businesses and publicity for NBC Studios and NBC Enterprises. She added oversight of the NBC Universal cable properties to her responsibilities shortly after the May 2004 merger of the two companies. Previously, Ms. Marks served since 1999 as VP of NBC entertainment publicity, where she was responsible for all press and electronic publicity for NBC’s prime-time series and long-form programming.

From 1994 to 1999 Ms. Marks was director of press and publicity for NBC movies, miniseries and specials. She had been senior press manager as well as press manager after joining NBC Media Relations as a junior publicist in 1991. She began her career at NBC in 1984, holding positions in a number of departments, including news, sales and corporate events, before moving into the media relations area.
