Richard named VP, Corporate Communications for Telemundo

Telemundo Network announced Friday that Alfredo Richard has been named VP of corporate communications for the NBC Universal-owned company. In his new post, Mr. Richard will be responsible for directing public relations, media relations, events, community relations, employee and corporate communications for the network. The announcement was made today by James McNamara, president and CEO at Telemundo Communications Group. Mr. Richard will report directly to Mr. McNamara.

Mr. Richard joins Telemundo from Claxson Interactive Group, where he has served as senior VP of communications since May 2000.

Prior to Claxson, Mr. Richard was with MTV Networks where he held a number of roles in media relations and communications after joining the network in February 1995, including VP of corporate communications at MTV Networks in New York City.

A native of Chile, Mr. Richard is also vice chairman of the Cultural Arts Council of the City of Miami Beach and a member of the media and entertainment group at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
