Univision Moves to Acquire Puerto Rican TV Stations

Spanish-language broadcaster Univision Communications on Tuesday said it will exercise its option to purchase two TV stations in Puerto Rico from Raycom Media for $190 million.

The deal, which involves stations WLII-TV and WSUR-TV in San Juan, isn’t expected to affect Univision’s financials because the company has managed the stations under a time brokerage agreement and already included the stations’ results in its financial statements. Univision already owns radio stations in Puerto Rico.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval, the company said.
