Walden, Newman Extend Deals with 20th Century Fox Television

Peter Chernin, president and chief operating officer of Fox Entertainment Group/News Corp. announced Wednesday 20th Century Fox Television Presidents Gary Newman and Dana Walden have signed a new multiyear deal that will keep them co-running the studio.

Mr. Newman and Ms. Walden were both named president of the studio in November 1999. The pair have been at 20th Century Fox Television for the launch of such shows as “24,” “Arrested Development,” “The Bernie Mac Show,” “Reba,” “Judging Amy,” “Still Standing,” “Yes, Dear” and “The Simple Life.” They spearheaded the studio’s strategy of releasing the first season of a debuting series on DVD before the launch of the second season.

Ms. Walden was previously the studio’s executive VP of drama. Mr. Newman served as the studio’s executive VP and top ranking business officer.
