Sprint to Offer ESPN-Branded Mobile Service

ESPN has inked a deal with Sprint to create an ESPN-branded mobile service slated to launch next year.

The service, called ESPN Mobile, is targeted at sports fans. It will offer sports programming and entertainment from ESPN, including sports news, analysis, statistics, streaming audio and video, ring tones, photos and logos, on wireless phones.

The initiative is a step forward in meeting ESPN’s goal of extending its brand into multiple environments, including cellphones.
