“The Young and the Restless,” the most-watched daytime drama for nearly half of its 32 seasons on the air, will remain on the CBS lineup for another five years under an extension announced Tuesday by CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler and Sony Pictures Television President Steve Mosko.

“We are all very pleased to be continuing our successful relationship with CBS and Sony Pictures Television,” said Bill Bell, president of Bell-Phillip Television Productions, which turns out the Emmy-winning soap in conjunction with Sony Pictures Television. “We look forward to five more years of quality drama as ‘Y&R’s’ talented family continues to set the standard for daytime television.”
