ABC Names Eleo Hensleigh Chief Marketing Officer

The Walt Disney Co.’s Disney-ABC Television Group has created its first-ever chief marketing officer position and given the job to Eleo Hensleigh, who will have the title of chief marketing officer and executive VP of marketing and brand strategy.

Ms. Hensleigh, formerly executive VP of worldwide brand strategy for Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group, will now oversee marketing, advertising, research, media planning, synergy, creative services and promotion divisions, which includes the ABC Television Network.

Previously, she was responsible for developing and managing the brand strategy for each of the Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group’s domestic basic cable channels-ABC Family, Disney Channel, SoapNet and Toon Disney.

Ms. Hensleigh worked for a long time with Anne Sweeney, co-chairman, Media Networks, Disney, and president, Disney-ABC Television Group. She and Ms. Sweeney worked together when Ms. Hensleigh held marketing positions at Disney Channel and Toon Disney and Ms. Sweeney headed ABC Cable Network operations.
