Twentieth Television has tapped former Atlanta Falcons tight end and Fox Sports game analyst Tim Green to host its revival of syndicated newsmagazine strip “A Current Affair,” sources said Wednesday.

Twentieth Television declined to comment on the hire, but the distributor confirmed in December that the show, which will be executive produced by “A Current Affair” creator Peter Brennan, is slated to debut on the Fox Television Stations Group in the fall. The Fox stations cover nearly 45 percent of the country.

Mr. Green is a college football Hall of Famer who was the Falcons’ first-round draft pick in 1986 out of Syracuse University, according to the Fox Sports Web site. He is a law school graduate, the author of 12 books and a commentator for National Public Radio.
