Paramount Domestic Television renewed its rookie half-hour entertainment newsmagazine strip “The Insider” on the CBS owned-and-operated stations for an additional two years to 2008. The announcement was made Wednesday by John Nogawski, president of the division. Stations include WCBS-TV in New York, KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, KYW-TV in Philadelphia, WBZ-TV in Boston and WWJ-TV in Detroit.

Hosted by Pat O’Brien, “The Insider” launched in fall 2004 as a spinoff to Paramount’s “Entertainment Tonight.” The show is the highest-rated first-year strip of the season, and has been regularly outperforming other newsmagazines.
