Bill Shine has been promoted to senior VP of programming of Fox News Channel. Mr. Shine started as one of the founding producers of the network in 1996 and had risen to production VP by 2003. He will oversee all programming and production and report directly to Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes, who described Mr. Shine as “a natural for this position.”

He said he does not expect there to be much adjustment to the new role, in which he may have to be focused less on the next day and more often on the more distant future. “This business is all about winning and it doesn’t matter the time frame you’re working in,” said Mr. Shine. “You still want to win. I don’t think you ever lose that.”
