An executive producer change has been made on CNN’s weeknightly “NewsNight With Aaron Brown.” Former ABC News producer Sharon van Zwieten has left CNN and is being succeeded by “American Morning” executive producer Wil Surratt. CNN/U.S. President Jonathan Klein, who is focused on improving ratings for prime-time CNN programming, announced the change to CNN staffers Tuesday.

Word is that Kim Bondy, who left NBC News to become an Atlanta-based VP and senior executive producer for CNN in 2001, is the leading candidate so take over “American Morning.” Ms. Bondy, a former “Weekend Today” producer, is credited with having helped convince former “Weekend Today” co-anchor Soledad O’Brien to leave NBC News to become co-anchor of “American Morning.”
