Discovery UK Exec to Head TLC Programming

Discovery Networks UK General Manager David Abraham will replace TLC programming head Roger Marmet, who resigned as general manager last month. Mr. Abrams’ title will be executive VP and general manager of TLC and he will oversee all programming, production, development and operations at the network.

“David’s innovative approaches to programming, production and marketing have helped to position Discovery as an industry leader in the competitive U.K. marketplace,” said Billy Campbell, Discovery Networks U.S. president. “David possesses a formidable arsenal of creative skills and business acumen that make him the ideal choice to take the TLC brand in exciting new directions.”

The 41-year-old Mr. Abraham has been general manager of Discovery’s nine U.K. channels since 2001. According to Discovery, the networks’ U.K. audience share has doubled during his tenure. Prior to joining Discovery, Mr. Abraham worked in advertising.
