Lifetime Announces Originals Slate

Lifetime announced a slate of scripted original series Friday, ranging from half-hour comedies to one-hour dramas. The network for women is also canceling the Joely Fisher drama “Wild Card.”
The originals include:
“The Debi Gutierrez Project:” Half-hour comedy based on Ms. Gutierrez’s stand-up act about a working mother/life coach. Executive produced by Sally Lapiduss, David Janollari and Judy Brown.
“Dirty:” A half-hour comedy from executive producer Gale Anne Hurd about the scheming wife of a cosmetics tycoon.
“Thicker Than Water:” A half-hour comedy from executive producer Carol Leifer, based on her own experiences as a television writer trying to get a job after working on “Seinfeld.”
“Tripping the Prom Queen:” A half-hour comedy from executive producers Jon Avnet and Ellen Williams based on a forthcoming nonfiction book from gender studies professor Susan Shapiro about women’s competitive instincts.
“Female Astronauts:” Also from Gale Anne Hurd, a one-hour drama about three female astronauts stranded on a space station.
“The Gumm Sisters:” Executive producers Kathy Najimy and David Janollari bring this one-hour drama about three plus-size sisters.
