Fox Wins Week in Demo, CBS, ABC Tie for Second

With reality music competition “American Idol” leading the way, Fox won the week ended Feb. 20 in the adults 18 to 49 demographic, leaving CBS and ABC in a tie for second place.

The Tuesday and Wednesday editions of “Idol” were tied as the top-rated shows for the week in adults 18 to 49, both scoring 11. 5 ratings. ABC’s Sunday night drama “Desperate Housewives” came in third with an 11.0, followed by CBS’s “CSI” (10.9) and the premiere of the latest installment of the CBS reality series “Survivor” (9.1).

In total viewers, “CSI” took the top spot with 30.72 million, followed by the Tuesday “Idol” (27.10 million) and the Wednesday “Idol” (26.30 million). “Housewives” was fourth with 24.19 million and “Survivor” was fifth with 23.66 million.

Fox won the week in adults 18 to 49 with a 4.4, followed by CBS and ABC, tied at 3.9. NBC was close behind with a 3.8, while The WB scored a 1.4 to UPN’s 1.3.

CBS won the week in total viewers with 13.41 million, followed by NBC (10.67 million), ABC (10.44 million), Fox (10.19 million), The WB (3.51 million) and UPN (3.23 million).
