Morritt Joins UPN in Advertising and Promotion

UPN announced Tuesday Jeff Morritt has joined the network as VP of advertising and promotion. Mr. Morritt will report to Ron Scalera, executive VP and creative director of CBS Marketing Group.

Mr. Morritt will oversee the creative direction of all on-air promos as well as radio, print and outdoor advertising campaigns and in-house presentations. Additionally, he will run the day-to-day operation of the UPN on-air promo department, working with the creative directors and programming executives in the creation of launch campaigns and ongoing episodic promotions.

He most recently served as creative director at CBS. He joined CBS Television in 1999 as a writer/producer in its on-air promotion department.

Before CBS, Mr. Morritt was supervising producer and director of six half-hour weekly shows for the music-oriented Access Entertainment Network.

He has also worked as a writer/producer in the marketing department for The WB and served as editor on reality shows “Rescue 911” and “America’s Funniest People.” He also created the PBS children’s series “Animal Tales.”

Before moving to Los Angeles in 1991 Mr. Morritt worked in London as a writer/producer for the BBC and Channel 4.
