CBS announced Thursday that Cybill Shepherd will once again portray Martha Stewart in a made-for-TV movie. Ms. Shepherd will portray Ms. Stewart in a film tentatively called “Martha,” which sources say CBS is targeting for May sweeps. The movie will examine the federal investigation of securities fraud that ultimately led to a federal prison term. At least part of the film will profile Ms. Stewart’s five-month stay at “Camp Cupcake,” Alderson Federal Prison in West Virginia.

In 2003 Ms. Shepherd starred in the NBC TV movie “Martha, Inc.: The Story of Martha Stewart,” which profiled Ms. Stewart’s rise from Connecticut homemaker to America’s most high-profile businesswoman.

The CBS movie is being produced by Paramount Pictures Television. Tom Patricia (“Homeless to Harvard,” “Dawn Anna”) is executive producing. Eric Bross (“Traffic”) is directing the film from a script by Charles Bohl (“Swimfan”). Production is taking place in Toronto.
