“American Idol” maintained its dominance Tuesday as the top-rated show of the night in the adults 18 to 49 demo. But at 10 p.m. (ET), ABC’s “Blind Justice” debuted to decent numbers.

In the demo “Idol” scored an 11.6 preliminary national rating, according to Nielsen Media Research. The second-highest-rated show of the night in the demo was a repeat of the “Idol” lead-out “House,” which scored a 6.6. “House” eclipsed the No. 2 show in the 9 p.m. time period, CBS’s “the Amazing Race” (4.8).

At 10 p.m. the premiere of “Blind Justice” scored a 4.5 in the demo, a 32 percent increase over “NYPD Blue’s” season average in the time slot. “Justice” gave ABC its highest ratings in the time period for a regularly scheduled series in two years, with the exception of the “Blue” series finale last week.

“Justice’s” performance was enough to beat CBS’s “Judging Amy” (2.9), but not enough to top NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU,” which scored a 5.8 in the demo.
