NBC’s special Thursday night preview of the franchise “Law & Order: Trial by Jury” won the borrowed “ER” 10 p.m. (ET) time slot in the adults 18 to 49 demographic, but CBS’s one-two “Survivor”/”CSI” punch more than made up for the difference and won the night in the demo for CBS.

“Trial by Jury” scored a 6.2 rating in adults 18 to 49, eclipsing both CBS’s procedural drama “Without a Trace” (4.9) and ABC’s newsmagazine “primetime>live” (2.7), but the show was down 21 percent from “ER’s” season-to-date average in the demo.

CBS won the 8 p.m. hour in adults 18 to 49 with “Survivor: Palau” (8.5) and at 9 p.m. with “CSI” (8.4). That gave the network a nightly average win of 7.3, followed by NBC (5.7), Fox and UPN (both 2.2), ABC (2.0) and The WB (0.6).
