ABC has given its veteran drama “Alias” and rookie dramas “Boston Legal,” “Desperate Housewives” and “Lost” early pickups for the 2005-06 season.

“Alias,” which moved to Wednesdays at 9 p.m. (ET) this season, has an average rating of 4.7 in adults 18 to 49, a 34 percent increase over last season. “Alias” is from the Disney-owned Touchstone Television.

Replacing its parent show “The Practice” on Sundays at 10 p.m., “Boston Legal” is now being pre-empted for the new medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” The Emmy-winning “Legal” is produced by David E. Kelley Productions in association with Twentieth Century Fox Television.

Sunday night’s “Housewives” at 9 p.m. is the No. 1 new TV series of the season in total viewers (22.8 million) and adults 18 to 49 (10.0/22).

Ranking No. 1 in its 8 p.m. time period in total viewers (15.9 million) and adults 18 to 49 (5.8/16), “Lost” has helped ABC improve its performance on Wednesdays. Both “Housewives” and “Lost” are from Touchstone Television.
