CBS Wins Week in Adults 18 to 49, Total Viewers

For the second week in a row CBS took first place among the broadcast networks in the adults 18 to 49 demographic and total viewers. For the week ended April 3, Fox’s Tuesday edition of “American Idol” was the top-rated show in adults 18 to 49 with a 11.0 rating, according to Nielsen Media Research. ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” was second with a 10.9, followed by the Wednesday “Idol” (10.6) and CBS’s “CSI” (9.9) and “Survivor: Palau” (7.7).

In total viewers, “CSI” had the top spot with 28.22 million, followed by the Tuesday and Wednesday “Idols” (26. 35 million and 24.94 million, respectively). “Housewives” was fourth with 24.61 million, while CBS’s “Without a Trace” rounded out the top five with 21.27 million.

CBS was the top-rated network for the week in adults 18 to 49 with a 4.3, followed by Fox (3.8), ABC (3.6), NBC (3.1) UPN (1.3) and The WB (1.1).

In total viewers CBS garnered 13.43 million, followed by ABC (9.59 million), NBC (9.28 million), Fox (9.07 million), UPN (3.4 million) and The WB (2.65 million).
